We're back...
On the eve of another flight across the Atlantic, Marion and I are in the preparation/packing stages for an adventure that will see us visiting Marlow, BUCKS...a time with our daughter, her husband and children. For part of that time we will do our part as caregivers while our daughter and husband celebrate the magic "4-0" with a vacation to Jamaica!
A part of our time in England will be spent visiting Swindon, Wiltshire to continue learning about the Goudge family. Thanks to previous work done by family members, I have an excellent resource that will be travellling with me as backgrounder. The central library in Swindon offers a historian who specializes in local studies and geneology support, available to asisst visitors doing what I plan to do and am looking forward to accessing their key resources. Swindon is also a part of England that I have not visited on earlier excursions. Thanks to a great train system, it will make for an excellent day.
From mid October and beyond, we'll be heading to Basel, Switzerland where we will board the Viking "Gulveig" for a magcal cruise down the Rhine to Amsterdam. Once in Amsterdam, our plan is to spend a few days there exploring that wonderful city prior to returning home.
My plan is to use this blog to record our activities and to share the excitement of our touring.
